About the Founder

My name is Denekew Fikru, though most who travel with me know me simply as Dani. My journey in Ethiopian tourism began in 2008 G.C. on the breathtaking trails of the Simien Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that I am proud to call my first classroom. For years, I worked as a guide alongside various tour agencies, but my true education came from the travelers themselves. Every client I walked with brought a unique perspective, a different question, and a deeper understanding of how the world views my homeland.

This invaluable, ground-level insight became the cornerstone of my philosophy: that travel is not just about seeing sights, but about exchanging knowledge and building connections. It was this vision that inspired me to establish Ethiopia Bound Tours.
