Day 1: Addis Ababa – Arbaminch – Dorze Village

Meet your Ethio Target Tours driver at your preferred pickup point and transfer to the airport for your flight to Arbaminch, meaning “Forty Springs” in Amharic, named after the natural springs in the area. Upon arrival, meet your local driver and guide and head to Chencha to visit the Dorze tribe. The Dorze are renowned for their beehive-shaped houses, expert weaving skills, and innovative terraced farming techniques that prevent soil erosion. Explore their homes and gardens where they grow vegetables, spices, tobacco, and Enset (false banana). Return to Arbaminch in the afternoon.

Day 2: Arbaminch – Jinka (with Boat Trip & Key Afer Market)

Begin the day with an early boat trip on Lake Chamo, famous for its abundant wildlife, including large pods of hippos, giant Nile crocodiles (up to 6 meters long), and various water birds. Enjoy the unforgettable scenery before continuing the drive to Key Afer, a vibrant tribal market held every Thursday. The market draws at least four different tribes, creating a colorful and diverse cultural scene. Walk through the market with a local guide, exploring sections dedicated to livestock, vegetables, grains, crafts, and more. After the market, continue driving to Jinka.

Day 3: Jinka – Mursi Village – Turmi

After breakfast, depart for Mursi Village via Mago National Park. Visit the Mursi people, one of the most iconic tribes in the region, known for their women’s lip plates and traditional scarification. Learn about their customs, unique appearance, and way of life. Continue to Turmi, with a stop to visit the Bena tribe along the way. If there is any ceremonial event happening—such as a bull-jumping ceremony or traditional dance—your guide will inform you and help you participate (additional fees apply).
